Merchants

A typical merchant wore tunics made with wool and a belt, and a long jacket. Usually a cap made of wool cloth and very pointed shoes were in style, they also wore tights. There dress was pretty average and not anything of such extravagance. The link below contains a drawing medieval merchants.

Churchman

The colors of the clothes that medieval nuns would wear were usually a white-grey, or black. The white-grey color was due to un-dyed wool, early nuns wore their habits like this. A habit is the name for the clothes that nuns wore. Some nuns wore their habit un-dyed, to show the life of poverty. Later, the colors would typically be black. They would wear a wimple and a veil that was attached to their scapula. A scapula is worn over the shoulders with an opening for the head, it is made out of a large piece of woolen cloth. They also wore a habit, which was tied around the waist with a belt made of leather or cloth. Monks would wear clothing of similarity to the nuns, except instead of a wimple and veil, they would wear a hood that was attached to the scapula called a cowl.

Peasants

The clothing of peasants and those of the lower class weren't very complex, and quite simple. Most outfits consisted of a cloth or skin top with a leather belt around the abdominal area. A purse and sheath with knife would hang from the belt. Hefty boots or shoes would be worn on the feet, they would wear hats made of wool and gloves for cold and work. Also, woolen pants and a jacket made of thick sheep skin would be worn. Women would wear wimples, a cloth worn around the head which framed the face, and a long gown. This is a basic overview of what peasants of the medieval times would wear.

Wealthy People

In the middle ages a common outfit for a wealthy person such as a noble would probably wear clothes of great colors like red, green and blue. Sophisticated styles and elaborate designs were preferred among the upperclass. Men would wear colored tights, tunics, and long coats etc. Women would wear long dresses, and head wear that were very well made with great craftsmenship. As well as tunics, and coats of fur. Including crowns made of gold or silver with jewels and pearls for show. Clothes definitly played a part in showing one's weath. As the Crusades concluded new fabrics like silk came to Europe and were in fashion with the wealthy.
